Welcome to the “Sum of Thy Word” where truth is sought in a multitude of witnesses. The Bible is written like no other book on the face of the earth. The Word was conceived in the mind of the Most High God and brought forth before all of creation and then used to manifest eternal sons in a temporal world:
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 Wherefore we faint not; but though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day. (17) For our light affliction, which is for the moment, worketh for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory; (18) while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Father’s Word was then given to 40+ witnesses over a 2,500-year span to show forth His power to raise up holy sons through His first-born in the midst of an increasingly wicked world:
Romans 8:28-29And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, even to them that are called according to his purpose. (29) For whom he foreknew, he also foreordained to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren:
The “Word of God” was never intended to be just another book for the casual believer to be read when time allowed but rather He is the very essence of eternal life woven spiritually throughout those 66 books to be searched with our whole heart in the Spirit not the letter:
Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Romans 2:28-29 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision which is outward in the flesh: (29) but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
Romans 7:6 But now we have been discharged from the law, having died to that wherein we were held; so that we serve in newness of the spirit, and not in oldness of the letter.
2 Corinthians 3:4-6 And such confidence have we through Christ to God-ward: (5) not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God; (6) who also made us sufficient as ministers of a new covenant; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
Jesus told us the old testament scriptures cannot be broken from the new testament scriptures but that the mysteries of the OT “letter” are being revealed through the Spirit of the NT combining spiritual with spiritual:
John 10:34-36 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? (35) If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came (and the scripture cannot be broken), (36) say ye of him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
Matthew 13:11-12 And he answered and said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. (12) For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that which he hath.
1 Corinthians 2:6-13 We speak wisdom, however, among them that are fullgrown: yet a wisdom not of this world, nor of the rulers of this world, who are coming to nought: (7) but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, even the wisdom that hath been hidden, which God foreordained before the worlds unto our glory: (8) which none of the rulers of this world hath known: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory: (9) but as it is written, Things which eye saw not, and ear heard not, And which entered not into the heart of man, Whatsoever things God prepared for them that love him. (10) But unto us God revealed them through the Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. (11) For who among men knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of the man, which is in him? even so the things of God none knoweth, save the Spirit of God. (12) But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is from God; that we might know the things that were freely given to us of God. (13) Which things also we speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Spirit teacheth; combining spiritualthingswith spiritualwords.
John 14:26 But the Comforter, even the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you.
Jesus was the Word of God in the OT who became flesh in the NT to reveal what the wisdom and power of the Word and Spirit of our Father can do in a Son of man:
1 Corinthians 1:23-24 but we preach Christ crucified, unto Jews a stumblingblock, and unto Gentiles foolishness; (24) but unto them that are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
John 5:26-27 For as the Father hath life in himself, even so gave he to the Son also to have life in himself: (27) and he gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is a son of man.
Jesus was the same in Spirit “yesterday” which was the OT and “to-day” which is the NT:
John 6:63 It is the spirit that giveth life; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I have spoken unto you are spirit, and are life.
2 Timothy 3:14-17 But abide thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; (15) and that from a babe thou hast known the sacred writings which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. (16) Every scripture inspired of God is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness: (17) that the man of God may be complete, furnished completely unto every good work.
Hebrews 13:8Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and to-day, (yea) and for ever.
Revelation 19:13 And he is arrayed in a garment sprinkled with blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
It is the glory of our Father to conceal His truth as “precept upon precept” “here a little there a little” from Genesis through Revelation for us to search out and bring together to learn the sum of His message:
Proverbs 25:2It is the glory of God to conceal a thing; But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.
Isaiah 28:9-11 Whom will he teach knowledge? and whom will he make to understand the message? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts? (10) For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, there a little. (11) Nay, but by men of strange lips and with another tongue will he speak to this people;
Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every wordthat proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Psalms 119:160The sum of thy word is truth; And every one of thy righteous ordinances endureth for ever.
Father had Solomon express twice the need to understand that history(His-story) must and will repeat for He seeks again that which passed away:
Ecclesiastes 1:9-10 That which hath been is that which shall be; and that which hath been done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. (10) Is there a thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been long ago, in the ages which were before us.
Ecclesiastes 3:14-15 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor anything taken from it; and God hath done it, that men should fear before him. (15) That which is hath been long ago; and that which is to be hath long ago been: and God seeketh again that which is passed away.
The challenge of this web site is to encourage every believer to be noble in their quest for truth utilizing both the OT and NT as one book of prophecy:
John 5:45-47 Think not that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, on whom ye have set your hope. (46) For if ye believed Moses, ye would believe me; for he wrote of me. (47) But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
Acts 17:11Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of the mind, examining the Scriptures daily, whether these things were so.
2 Peter 1:20-21 knowing this first, that no prophecy of scripture is of private interpretation. (21) For no prophecy ever came by the will of man: but men spake from God, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
Revelation 19:10 And I fell down before his feet to worship him. And he saith unto me, See thou do it not: I am a fellow-servant with thee and with thy brethren that hold the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
