But as we study the rest of the first chapter of Matthew we discover a generation missing from the “genealogy” of Jesus Christ:
Matthew 1:1-17 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. (2) Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judah and his brethren; (3) and Judah begat Perez and Zerah of Tamar; and Perez begat Hezron; and Hezron begat Ram; (4) and Ram begat Amminadab; and Amminadab begat Nahshon; and Nahshon begat Salmon; (5) and Salmon begat Boaz of Rahab; and Boaz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse; (6) and Jesse begat David the king. And David begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Uriah; (7) and Solomon begat Rehoboam; and Rehoboam begat Abijah; and Abijah begat Asa; (8) and Asa begat Jehoshaphat; and Jehoshaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Uzziah; (9) and Uzziah begat Jotham; and Jotham begat Ahaz; and Ahaz begat Hezekiah; (10) and Hezekiah begat Manasseh; and Manasseh begat Amon; and Amon begat Josiah; (11) and Josiah begat Jechoniah and his brethren, at the time of the carrying away to Babylon. (12) And after the carrying away to Babylon, Jechoniah begat Shealtiel; and Shealtiel begat Zerubbabel; (13) and Zerubbabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor; (14) and Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud; (15) and Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob; (16) and Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. (17) So all the generations from Abraham unto David are fourteen generations; and from David unto the carrying away to Babylon fourteen generations; and from the carrying away to Babylon unto the Christ fourteen generations.
When one physically counts the generations from Abraham unto David there are fourteen generations:
And we count fourteen more generations from David unto the carrying away to Babylon:
But when we count from the carrying away to Babylon until Jesus the Christ there are only thirteen generations:
13) Jesus the Christ
Jesus is clearly the 41st physical generation from Abraham so where is the 42nd(14+14+14) generation that the Holy Spirit is declaring through Matthew?:
Matthew 1:17 So all the generations from Abraham unto David are fourteen generations; and from David unto the carrying away to Babylon fourteen generations; and from the carrying away to Babylon unto the Christ fourteen generations.
Peter reminds us not to forget that one day is as a thousand years:
2 Peter 3:8 But forget not this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
So if each day of creation represents 1000 years is it possible the 7 days of creation represent 7 one thousand year millenniums where the generations of Jesus Christ were placed to live throughout history(His~story)?:
Genesis 2:4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that Jehovah God made earth and heaven.
We know the Word of God is the Wisdom of God who came out of His Father’s bosom:
John 1:1 & 14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God(His Father), and the Word was God….(14) And the Word became flesh(Jesus), and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth.
1 Corinthians 1:24 but unto them that are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
As the Wisdom of God, He spoke as the Word of God through the OT prophets and in the flesh to the NT apostles:
Luke 11:49 Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send unto them prophets and apostles; and some of them they shall kill and persecute;
Proverbs 8:12-36 I wisdom have made prudence my dwelling, And find out knowledge and discretion…..(17) I love them that love me(the Word ~ Jesus); And those that seek me diligently shall find me…..(22) Jehovah(Most High God~Father) possessed me(His Word) in the beginning of his way, Before his works of old. (23) I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, Before the earth was. (24) When there were no depths, I(Word) was brought forth(out of His Father God Most High), When there were no fountains abounding with water. (25) Before the mountains were settled, Before the hills was I brought forth; (26) While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, Nor the beginning of the dust of the world. (27) When he established the heavens, I was there: When he set a circle upon the face of the deep, (28) When he made firm the skies above, When the fountains of the deep became strong, (29) When he gave to the sea its bound, That the waters should not transgress his commandment, When he marked out the foundations of the earth; (30) Then I(the Word) was by him(His Father), as a master workman; And I was daily his delight, Rejoicing always before him, (31) Rejoicing in his habitable earth; And my delight was with the sons of men.

Our Father chose us in His Word before the foundation of the world:
Ephesians 1:3-11 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ: (4) even as he(our Father) chose us in him(His Word~Jesus)before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blemish before him in love: (5) having foreordained us unto adoption as sons through Jesus Christ unto himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, (6) to the praise of the glory of his grace, which he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved(Word~Jesus): (7) in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, (8) which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, (9) making known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he(our Father) purposed in him(Word~Jesus) (10) unto a dispensation of the fulness of the times(7 millenniums), to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens, and the things upon the earth; in him, I say, (11) in whom also we were made a heritage, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his will;
He also chose when and where we would live our lives within His timeline of creation as sons of men who His Son would delight in as offspring of our Father:
Acts 17:24-28 The God that made the world and all things therein, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; (25) neither is he served by men’s hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he himself giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; (26) and he(God) made of one(Adam) every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed seasons(when they would live on this earth), and the bounds of their habitation(where they would live on this earth); (27) that they should seek God, if haply they might feel after him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us: (28) for in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain even of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
So now that we have established that all of the Father’s sons were chosen before His creation, let’s dig deeper into Genesis chapter one to see what clues God may have hid to define the end from the beginning of His “family history”:
Proverbs 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing; But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.
Isaiah 46:9-10 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me; (10) declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done; saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure;
From the creation of Adam to the days of Enoch were 1000 years that represent the 1st day of creation when God created light and divided it from darkness:
Genesis 1:1-5 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (2) And the earth was waste and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep: and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (3) And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. (4) And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. (5) And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.
It is within that period of time that God divided Cain and his lineage as a picture of darkness from Seth and his lineage from which the light of Jesus came:
Genesis 4:13-14 And Cain said unto Jehovah, My punishment is greater than I can bear. (14) Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the ground; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth; and it will come to pass, that whosoever findeth me will slay me.
Genesis 4:25-26 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For, said she, God hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel; for Cain slew him. (26) And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enosh. Then began men to call upon the name of Jehovah.
Psalms 119:105 NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And light unto my path.
John 8:12 Again therefore Jesus spake unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Luke 3:23-38 And Jesus himself, when he began to teach, was about thirty years of age, being the son (as was supposed) of Joseph, the son of Heli, (24) the son of Matthat, the son of Levi, the son of Melchi, the son of Jannai, the son of Joseph, (25) the son of Mattathias, the son of Amos, the son of Nahum, the son of Esli, the son of Naggai, (26) the son of Maath, the son of Mattathias, the son of Semein, the son of Josech, the son of Joda, (27) the son of Joanan, the son of Rhesa, the son of Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, the son of Neri, (28) the son of Melchi, the son of Addi, the son of Cosam, the son of Elmadam, the son of Er, (29) the son of Jesus, the son of Eliezer, the son of Jorim, the son of Matthat, the son of Levi, (30) the son of Symeon, the son of Judas, the son of Joseph, the son of Jonam, the son of Eliakim, (31) the son of Melea, the son of Menna, the son of Mattatha, the son of Nathan, the son of David, (32) the son of Jesse, the son of Obed, the son of Boaz, the son of Salmon, the son of Nahshon, (33) the son of Amminadab, the son of Arni, the son of Hezron, the son of Perez, the son of Judah, (34) the son of Jacob, the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham, the son of Terah, the son of Nahor, (35) the son of Serug, the son of Reu, the son of Peleg, the son of Eber, the son of Shelah, (36) the son of Cainan, the son of Arphaxad, the son of Shem, the son of Noah, the son of Lamech, (37) the son of Methuselah, the son of Enoch, the son of Jared, the son of Mahalaleel, the son of Cainan, (38) the son of Enos, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.
From the days of Enoch till the days of Abraham was another 1000 years that represent the 2nd day of creation when God divided the waters below the firmament called heaven from the waters above that first heaven:
Genesis 1:6-8 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. (7) And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. (8) And God called the firmament Heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.
Within that period of time God used a flood of waters to further divide righteous Noah and his family from the unrighteous lineage of Cain along with all of Seth’s lineage who as “sons of God” chose to fall back into the sins of Cain’s lineage:
Genesis 6:17-18 And I, behold, I do bring the flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; everything that is in the earth shall die. (18) But I will establish my covenant with thee(Noah); and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee.
Noah was determined to live a righteous life focused on God rather than be consumed with the cares of the world that is also presently taking place today with most Christians:
Matthew 24:37-39 And as were the days of Noah, so shall be the coming of the Son of man. (38) For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, (39) and they knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall be the coming of the Son of man.
Luke 8:14 And that which fell among the thorns, these are they that have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
Noah’s faith and godly fear of God’s spoken Word moved him to build an ark to save his house:
Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God concerning things not seen as yet, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; through which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
That ark was washed with 40 days of rain and resting on the water which represents our baptism in the Word who is Jesus Christ:
1 Peter 3:18-21 Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit; (19) in which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison, (20) that aforetime were disobedient, when the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water: (21) which also after a true likeness doth now save you, even baptism, not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the interrogation of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ;
Ephesians 5:25-27 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it; (26) that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, (27) that he might present the church to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
It is our continued baptism in our Father’s Word that brings the death to our old man so that we rise into heavenly places as Noah did!:
Romans 6:3-7 Or are ye ignorant that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus(Word)were baptized into his death? (4) We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life. (5) For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection; (6) knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away, that so we should no longer be in bondage to sin; (7) for he that hath died is justified from sin.
Ephesians 2:5-6 even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace have ye been saved), (6) and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus:

From the days of Abraham till the days of king David were another 1000 years that represent the 3rd day of creation when the waters were gathered to seas so dry land appeared where trees bearing fruit were put:
Genesis 1:9-13 And God said, Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. (10) And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. (11) And God said, Let the earth put forth grass, herbs yielding seed, and fruit-trees bearing fruit after their kind, wherein is the seed thereof, upon the earth: and it was so. (12) And the earth brought forth grass, herbs yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit, wherein is the seed thereof, after their kind: and God saw that it was good. (13) And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.
The same Holy Spirit that moved Moses to pen the book of Genesis also moved John to pen the book of Revelation so that all the prophecies from the beginning of the Bible till its end make the prophecy more sure:
2 Peter 1:19-21 And we have the word of prophecy made more sure; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day-star arise in your hearts: (20) knowing this first, that no prophecy of scripture is of private interpretation. (21) For no prophecy ever came by the will of man: but men spake from God, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
The waters that God gathered together on the third day of creation were called seas and represent the peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues:
Revelation 17:15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the harlot sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
The final beast system rises up out of the sea of the many peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues of all the previous kingdoms:
Revelation 13:1-3 and he stood upon the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads names of blasphemy. (2) And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard(Grecian), and his feet were as the feet of a bear(Medeo~Persian), and his mouth as the mouth of a lion(Babylonian): and the dragon gave him his power, and his throne, and great authority. (3) And I saw one of his heads(Roman) as though it had been smitten unto death; and his death-stroke was healed: and the whole earth wondered after the beast;
The harlot sits on top of these many waters of the beast:
Revelation 17:1-3 And there came one of the seven angels that had the seven bowls, and spake with me, saying, Come hither, I will show thee the judgment of the great harlot that sitteth upon many waters; (2) with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and they that dwell in the earth were made drunken with the wine of her fornication. (3) And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness: and I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet-colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
For more understanding on the harlot and her 7 headed beast please see this link:
The earth that appeared in the third day of creation where God planted fruit bearing trees represents us as the ground and trees that must bring forth good fruit:
Luke 8:15 And that in the good ground, these are such as in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, hold it fast, and bring forth fruit with patience.
Matthew 7:15-20 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves. (16) By their fruits ye shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? (17) Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but the corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. (18) A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. (19) Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. (20) Therefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Those Christians who meditate on the Word day and night will be the trees who produce the fruit:
Psalms 1:1-3 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked, Nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers: (2) But his delight is in the law of Jehovah; And on his law doth he meditate day and night. (3) And he shall be like a tree planted by the streams of water, That bringeth forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also doth not wither; And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Jesus calls this abiding in Him as the Vine that produces His fruit:
John 15:1-6 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. (2) Every branch in me that beareth not fruit, he taketh it away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he cleanseth it, that it may bear more fruit. (3) Already ye are clean because of the word which I have spoken unto you. (4) Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; so neither can ye, except ye abide in me. (5) I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same beareth much fruit: for apart from me ye can do nothing. (6) If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
There is corporate body of many false prophets in the earth today who will rise up as a unified second beast in these last days who appear as a lamb of Christ but speak the lies of the dragon:
Revelation 13:11-12 And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like unto a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. (12) And he exerciseth all the authority of the first beast in his sight. And he maketh the earth and them that dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose death-stroke was healed.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, fashioning themselves into apostles of Christ. (14) And no marvel; for even Satan fashioneth himself into an angel of light. (15) It is no great thing therefore if his ministers also fashion themselves as ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works.
God again showed us by the third day of creation that He continues to build His family and separate those who refuse to obey His will:
Luke 3:9 And even now the axe also lieth at the root of the trees: every tree therefore that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
From the days of king David till the days of Jesus was another 1000 years that represent the 4th day of creation when God brought forth a great light upon the earth to rule the day:
Genesis 1:14-19 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years: (15) and let them be for lights in the firmament of heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. (16) And God made the two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. (17) And God set them in the firmament of heaven to give light upon the earth, (18) and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. (19) And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.
Israel had become very dark toward the end of Solomon’s reign and divided after his death:
1 Kings 11:4-6 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods; and his heart was not perfect with Jehovah his God, as was the heart of David his father. (5) For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. (6) And Solomon did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and went not fully after Jehovah, as did David his father.
Though there were times of repentance within Israel, overall it became increasingly darker until Jesus was born as the great light near the end of the 4th 1000 year period in 3 BC:
Luke 2:32 A light for revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of thy people Israel.
Matthew 4:14-17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, (15) The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, Toward the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles, (16) The people that sat in darkness Saw a great light, And to them that sat in the region and shadow of death, To them did light spring up. (17) From that time began Jesus to preach, and to say, Repent ye; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Those who turn to God and His light turn away from the power of satan and darkness:
John 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me may not abide in the darkness.
Acts 26:14-18 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice saying unto me in the Hebrew language, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the goad. (15) And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. (16) But arise, and stand upon thy feet: for to this end have I appeared unto thee, to appoint thee a minister and a witness both of the things wherein thou hast seen me, and of the things wherein I will appear unto thee; (17) delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom I send thee, (18) to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among them that are sanctified by faith in me.
1 Thessalonians 5:5 for ye are all sons of light, and sons of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness;
It was not until after God created the great light of Jesus that God then created all the living creatures of the sea, land, and air on the 5th and 6th day:
Genesis 1:20-31 And God said, Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. (21) And God created the great sea-monsters, and every living creature that moveth, wherewith the waters swarmed, after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind: and God saw that it was good. (22) And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth. (23) And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day. (24) And God said, Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind, cattle, and creeping things, and beasts of the earth after their kind: and it was so. (25) And God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creepeth upon the ground after its kind: and God saw that it was good. (26) And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (27) And God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (28) And God blessed them: and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. (29) And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food: (30) and to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the heavens, and to everything that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for food: and it was so. (31) And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
After the fall of Adam and Eve, man had no preeminence above the beasts:
Ecclesiastes 3:17-20 I said in my heart, God will judge the righteous and the wicked; for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work. (18) I said in my heart, It is because of the sons of men, that God may prove them, and that they may see that they themselves are but as beasts. (19) For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; and man hath no preeminence above the beasts: for all is vanity. (20) All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
2 Peter 2:12 But these, as creatures without reason, born mere animals to be taken and destroyed, railing in matters whereof they are ignorant, shall in their destroying surely be destroyed,
But now through obedience in Christ we become a new creature above the beasts:
2 Corinthians 5:16-17 Wherefore we henceforth know no man after the flesh: even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more. (17) Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new.
Who are led of the Spirit in the putting to death our beastly flesh as a son of God should:
Romans 8:12-14 So then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh: (13) for if ye live after the flesh, ye must die; but if by the Spirit ye put to death the deeds of the body, ye shall live. (14) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
We know Jesus had no physical seed of His own so let’s search the scriptures for this 42nd generation, that we proved above, is missing from Jesus’ genealogy of Mathew chapter 1:
Acts 17:11 Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of the mind, examining the Scriptures daily, whether these things were so.
One of the best ways to discover how truth is hidden in scripture is to examine other passages where the word “generation(s)” is used such as here:
Acts 8:32-33 Now the passage of the Scripture which he was reading was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before his shearer is dumb, So he openeth not his mouth: (33) In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: His generation who shall declare? For his life is taken from the earth.
Though Jesus’ physical life was taken from the earth first through crucifixion and then His ascension to the right hand of His Father:
Acts 1:9 And when he(Jesus) had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up; and a cloud received him(Jesus) out of their sight.
He declared that His Father would give Him children as His seed who would prolong His days with signs and wonders:
Isaiah 8:18 Behold, I and the children(disciples)whom Jehovah(the Father)hath given me(Jesus) are for signs and for wonders in Israel from Jehovah of hosts, who dwelleth in mount Zion.
Isaiah 53:10 Yet it pleased Jehovah(the Father) to bruise him(Jesus); he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he(Jesus) shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Jehovah shall prosper in his hand.
One of the first signs was our Father sending His Holy Spirit with His Word as His seed into the virgin Mary to produce His Son in the flesh named Jesus:
Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Luke 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
Matthew 1:18-20 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. (19) And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily. (20) But when he thought on these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
Luke 1:31-35 And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. (32) He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: (33) and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. (34) And Mary said unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? (35) And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow thee: wherefore also the holy thing which is begotten shall be called the Son of God.
John 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth.
He came as a Son of God in a son of man:
John 12:34 The multitude therefore answered him, We have heard out of the law that the Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?
Acts 7:56 and said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing on the right hand of God.
Jesus began to sow that same spiritual seed into others to produce disciples who He referred to as “children”:
Matthew 13:37 And he answered and said, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
Mark 10:24 And the disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
Hebrews 2:13 And again, I(Jesus) will put my trust in him(His Father). And again, Behold, I(Jesus) and the children(disciples) whom God(His Father)hath given me(His Son Jesus).
Each seed bringeth forth after it’s own kind:
Genesis 1:11-12 And God said, Let the earth(dust~man) put forth grass, herbs yielding seed, and fruit-trees bearing fruit after their kind, wherein is the seed thereof, upon the earth: and it was so. (12) And the earth brought forth grass, herbs yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit, wherein is the seed thereof, after their kind: and God saw that it was good.
So the Father’s seed is His Word which should bring forth sons with the same fruit as Jesus through His Spirit in us:
Galatians 5:22-24 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, (23) meekness, self-control; against such there is no law. (24) And they that are of Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with the passions and the lusts thereof.
He then commissioned His disciples to go out into all the world and make more disciples of all nations:
Matthew 28:19-20 Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: (20) teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.
In obedience to this command, his disciples such as John made more disciples whom he called “my little children”:
1 John 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither with the tongue; but in deed and truth.
1 John 5:21 My little children, guard yourselves from idols.
3 John 1:4 Greater joy have I none than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth.
Paul was imprisoning and killing those spiritual children of the first disciples and yet Jesus accused Paul of persecuting Him directly:
Acts 9:1-5 But Saul, yet breathing threatening and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, (2) and asked of him letters to Damascus unto the synagogues, that if he found any that were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. (3) And as he journeyed, it came to pass that he drew nigh unto Damascus: and suddenly there shone round about him a light out of heaven: (4) and he fell upon the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? (5) And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest:
This is because every believer becomes a member of the body of Christ:
1 Corinthians 12:12-14 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ. (13) For in one Spirit were we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all made to drink of one Spirit. (14) For the body is not one member, but many.
This extension of Jesus’ seed produces spiritual children of God who become one man in Christ Jesus made up of both believing Jews and Gentiles:
Galatians 3:26-29 For ye are all sons of God, through faith, in Christ Jesus. (27) For as many of you as were baptized into Christ did put on Christ. (28) There can be neither Jew nor Greek(Gentile), there can be neither bond nor free, there can be no male and female; for ye all are one man in Christ Jesus. (29) And if ye are Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, heirs according to promise.
Romans 8:29 For whom he foreknew, he also foreordained to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he(Jesus)might be the firstborn among many brethren:
So the 5th and 6th days of creation represent the 2000 years from Jesus’ resurrection till today when the 42nd generation of God’s family is made up of a many believing Gentiles grafted into the ONE olive tree from which many Jews were broken off:
Romans 11:17-22 But if some of the branches(physical Jews)were broken off, and thou, being a wild olive(believing Gentiles), wast grafted in among them, and didst become partaker with them of the root(Jesus)of the fatness of the olive tree; (18) glory not over the branches: but if thou gloriest, it is not thou that bearest the root, but the root thee. (19) Thou wilt say then, Branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in. (20) Well; by their unbelief they(unbelieving Jews) were broken off, and thou standest by thy faith. Be not highminded, but fear: (21) for if God spared not the natural branches(unbelieving Jews), neither will he spare thee(believing Gentiles). (22) Behold then the goodness and severity of God: toward them that fell, severity; but toward thee, God’s goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
Paul called this a mystery where the believing Gentiles become fellow-heirs with the believing Jews, fellow-members of the body, and fellow-partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel:
Ephesians 3:1-6 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus in behalf of you Gentiles, (2) if so be that ye have heard of the dispensation of that grace of God which was given me to you-ward; (3) how that by revelation was made known unto me the mystery, as I wrote before in few words, (4) whereby, when ye read, ye can perceive my understanding in the mystery of Christ; (5) which in other generations was not made known unto the sons of men, as it hath now been revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit; (6) to wit, that the Gentiles are fellow-heirs, and fellow-members of the body, and fellow-partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel,
Thus the reason Jesus could call His first disciples “this generation” as they are one spiritual 42nd generation with us today who will witness the abomination of desolation, the great tribulation, and then Jesus’ coming in the clouds for us all:
Matthew 24:1-3 & 15 & 21-22 & 29-34 And Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way; and his disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple. (2) But he answered and said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. (3) And as he sat on the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?……(15)When therefore ye see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let him that readeth understand),…..(21) for then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be. (22) And except those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened…….(29) But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: (30) and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (31) And he shall send forth his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (32) Now from the fig tree learn her parable: when her branch is now become tender, and putteth forth its leaves, ye know that the summer is nigh; (33) even so ye also, when ye see all these things, know ye that he is nigh, even at the doors. (34) Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all these things be accomplished.
And all 42 generations make up ONE chosen generation called out of darkness into the marvelous light of Christ:
1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
1 Corinthians 10:1-4 For I would not, brethren(NT believers in Christ), have you ignorant, that our fathers(OT Jews) were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; (2) and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; (3) and did all eat the same spiritual food; (4) and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them: and the rock was Christ.
Please notice Jesus when speaking to the Jews around 30 AD clearly said “ye” slew Zacharias who live around 800 BC proving “this generation” was over 800 years old proving “this generation” is clearly His ONE body, His ONE temple, His ONE olive tree, His ONE nation, His ONE people as His ONE generation throughout His~story(History):
Matthew 23:34-36 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: (35) That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. (36) Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.
Though “the heavens and the earth were finished” within 6 days there was spiritual work that God finishes on the 7th day before resting:
Genesis 2:1-3 And the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. (2) And on the seventh day God finished his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. (3) And God blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it; because that in it he rested from all his work which God had created and made.
Please notice that Jesus declared His Father was working during the time Jesus walk on earth proving our Father is doing a spiritual work in His people throughtout the generations:
John 5:17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh even until now, and I work.
He is working in us to will and do His pleasure!:
Philippians 2:12-13 So then, my beloved, even as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; (13) for it is God who worketh in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure.
God did not describe what He finished on the 7th day but purposely hid it for ages and generations until it was revealed through Paul to the Jewish and Gentile saints which is Christ in us the hope of glory:
Colossians 1:26-27 even the mystery which hath been hid for ages and generations: but now hath it been manifested to his saints, (27) to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
The mystery is also that part of Israel was hardened until all the elect Gentiles were grafted into the ONE olive tree which is called “all Israel”:
Romans 11:25-26 For I would not, brethren, have you ignorant of this mystery, lest ye be wise in your own conceits, that a hardening in part hath befallen Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in; (26) and so all Israel shall be saved: even as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer; He shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
For more understanding on “all Israel” please see this link:
Enoch being the 7th generation from Adam was a prophesy of the 7th millennium when Jesus would come in the clouds to resurrect/rapture His spiritual family to heaven for a time and then come back with those holy ones to execute judgment upon the earth:
Jude 1:14-15 And to these also Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his holy ones, (15) to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their works of ungodliness which they have ungodly wrought, and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
Part of this mystery spiritual work is the latter rain outpouring of His Holy Spirit that will come after the 2 days(2000 years) from Jesus on the morning of the 7th day:
Hosea 6:1-3 Come, and let us return unto Jehovah; for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. (2) After two days will he revive us: on the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live before him. (3) And let us know, let us follow on to know Jehovah: his going forth is sure as the morning; and he will come unto us as the rain, as the latter rain that watereth the earth.
Hosea prophesied in the 8th century BC which is within the 4th 1000 year period from David to Jesus birth on 3 BC. “After two days” from Jesus birth “on the third day” would bring us to morning of the 7th ~ 1000 year period which is where we are today in the year 2022 so this “latter rain” is about to come!
Joel prophesied that the “children of Zion” would receive a former and latter rain:
Joel 2:23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in Jehovah your God; for he giveth you the former rain in just measure, and he causeth to come down for you the rain, the former rain and the latter rain, in the firstmonth.
The children of Zion are the church:
Hebrews 12:22-23 but ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable hosts of angels, (23) to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
The former(early) rain came on the church at Pentecost as Jesus promised:
Acts 1:4-5 and, being assembled together with them, he(Jesus)charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, said he, ye heard from me: (5) for John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days hence.
The early rain took place at Pentecost in 30 AD:
Acts 2:1-4 And when the day of Pentecost was now come, they were all together in one place. (2) And suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. (3) And there appeared unto them tongues parting asunder, like as of fire; and it sat upon each one of them. (4) And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
But the Father is patiently waiting until His perfect time to pour out the “latter rain” just before the final harvest of the earth:
James 5:7 Be patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord(Jesus). Behold, the husbandman(Father)waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receive the early(former) and latter rain.
This latter rain will ripen the harvest that proves who lived on the earth as a son of God and who lived as a son of the devil:
Matthew 13:36-40 Then he left the multitudes, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Explain unto us the parable of the tares of the field. (37) And he answered and said, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; (38) and the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom; and the tares are the sons of the evil one; (39) and the enemy that sowed them is the devil: and the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are angels. (40) As therefore the tares are gathered up and burned with fire; so shall it be in the end of the world.
There are many Christians that are causing others to stumble as they demonstrate a life of iniquity:
Matthew 13:41-43 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that cause stumbling, and them that do iniquity, (42) and shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth. (43) Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He that hath ears, let him hear.
Paul lists the works of the flesh that are contrary to the Holy Spirit and will cause a Christian to not inherit the kingdom of God:
Galatians 5:16-21 But I say, Walk by the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. (17) For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are contrary the one to the other; that ye may not do the things that ye would. (18) But if ye are led by the Spirit, ye are not under the law. (19) Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these: fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, (20) idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousies, wraths, factions, divisions, parties, (21) envyings, drunkenness, revellings, and such like; of which I forewarn you, even as I did forewarn you, that they who practise such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
But those who produce the fruit of the Spirit of our Father will inherit the kingdom of God:
Galatians 5:22-24 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, (23) meekness, self-control; against such there is no law. (24) And they that are of Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with the passions and the lusts thereof. (25) If we live by the Spirit, by the Spirit let us also walk. (26) Let us not become vainglorious, provoking one another, envying one another.
Those who are busy in this life manifesting the fruit of the Spirit will be harvested after the tribulation:
Revelation 14:14-16 And I saw, and behold, a white cloud; and on the cloud I saw one sitting like unto a son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. (15) And another angel came out from the temple, crying with a great voice to him that sat on the cloud, Send forth thy sickle, and reap: for the hour to reap is come; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. (16) And he(Jesus)that sat on the cloud cast his sickle upon the earth; and the earth was reaped.
Those who lived for their flesh will be left on the earth and cast into the great winepress of the wrath of God:
Revelation 14:17-20 And another angel came out from the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. (18) And another angel came out from the altar, he that hath power over fire; and he called with a great voice to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Send forth thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe. (19) And the angel cast his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vintage of the earth, and cast it into the winepress, the great winepress, of the wrath of God. (20) And the winepress was trodden without the city, and there came out blood from the winepress, even unto the bridles of the horses, as far as a thousand and six hundred furlongs.
Those two harvests are separated when when the 7th trumpet is blown and the mystery of God is finished:
Revelation 10:7 but in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, then is finished the mystery of God, according to the good tidings which he declared to his servants the prophets.
There is much more on the timing of these harvests here:
So our Father deserves the glory for naming every family in heaven and on earth who were chosen from the foundation of the world to belong in His “family history” through His Beloved Son Jesus Christ from “all generations”:
Ephesians 1:3-11 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ: (4) even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blemish before him in love: (5) having foreordained us unto adoption as sons through Jesus Christ unto himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, (6) to the praise of the glory of his grace, which he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved: (7) in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, (8) which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, (9) making known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him (10) unto a dispensation of the fulness of the times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens, and the things upon the earth; in him, I say, (11) in whom also we were made a heritage, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his will;
It is for this purpose that we shall all join Paul in bending our knee to the Father and His Son Jesus Christ:
Ephesians 3:14-15 & 20-21 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father, (15) from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named,…….(20) Now unto him(Father) that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, (21) unto him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus unto all generations for ever and ever. Amen.
Philippians 2:9-11 Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him the name which is above every name; (10) that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things on earth and things under the earth, (11) and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
It is for this reason we should seek to be crucified in Christ every day we live on our Father’s earth:
